I have been a member of the New Albany family for the past seven years.  I taught first grade for five years before becoming the BSIP Reading Specialist for first grade.  I am a graduate of Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education, and a master’s degree in Education and Reading.

I believe in instilling a love of learning in each of my students.  Our classroom environment makes each of the students feel successful and develop a belief in themselves that enhances future opportunities for success. I strive to ensure that my students will flourish and become life-long learners who truly enjoy reading.

The students I work with enjoy participating in many wonderful literacy activities. We work intensely on building reading skills and strategies, building reading fluency and comprehension, composing sentences and stories, and spelling.
