Mrs. Campbell
Every week during Lent, all St. Charles students join together in praying the Stations of the Cross. This Thursday, March 20, we will celebrate Stations at 9:30 AM.
We will learn about our Constitution and how our government and economy work in Social Studies, as it will help us understand better when we go to the Constitution Center on our class trip on St. Patrick's Day, March 17. We are excited also about going on the tour of Philadelphia on the Duck Tour! We also will visit St. John Neumann Shrine.
Reading for 30 minutes every day is a great habit to acquire! Students could go to the Cinnaminson Library this week and next on our Easter vacation.
In Science, this week we will learn about and compare animal and plant fossils. We will have homework in our workbooks (RS 52-53).
We will have Spelling this week with a test on Holy Thursday. We will do a character sketch of some character we are familiar with from our past reading. We will review adjectives.
We are learning vocabulary and reading Sounder by William H.Armstrong. Questions through Chapter 8 are due on Monday, March 17. Hopefully, this novel will give students an understanding of the struggles of African Americans during the 19th century South. Students will continue to study poetry and compose their own poem this week.
On Saturday, March 8, 2008, Carolyn E. in 5A received her award in Red Bank, NJ, for her winning Respect Life essay, along with Dominic C. 4 A and Isabel K. 1A for their winning posters. Pictures of their work will be on the diocesan website www.respectlifetoday.com.
