A note from Mrs. Kulbick, SCB School Librarian and Computer Teacher-

Here we go..... Week of March 9th!

Terra Nova Testiing this week- a great week to rest the mind with a good library book. Eat a healthy breakfast- get lots of rest. Testing Time!

Here is a link to a few pictures of our new library!

Library Renovation

Fundraising from Casino Night 2007 provided our library/ media center with many unbelievable opportunities. The 60s motif has become a thing of the past as the avocado, yellow, and orange chairs were removed and new ergonomically correct chairs have been put into place. The bookcases arrived and all furniture has been delivered and installed. The result is BEAUTIFUL! The children are very excited about seeing what has happened to one of their favorite places.

With the help our students, library volunteer, Mrs. Barb Szyszkiewicz, Mrs. Devlin and Mrs. Guzik, all books have been moved from the temporary library. Our school library is now organized and amazing. The setting is tranquil and relaxing- just like a REAL library!. Thanks to all of them for their help.

The colors of the media center are bright and vibrant and the quality of the new furniture, purchased through Bretford and Smith Systems (two of the best manufacturers in the industry) is impressive. A new rug has been installed in both the library and the computer lab unifying the two in both wall color and flooring. As an added bonus a new ceiling was installed replacing the original tiles that were stained and deteriorating after many years of wear and tear.

I thank Mrs. Glenning and our wonderful PTA board for their interest, funding and enthusiasm about this project. Thanks to Mr. Zimecki and his assistant Thomas Weeks for their efforts in a beautiful paint job last summer. Thanks to Mrs. Aimee Guzik for her design assistance. Thanks to Deacon Carl Sondeen, Mrs. Patricia Sacks, and Mrs. Lisa Leibrand for their help in initiating the renovation. Thanks to Mrs. Toni Martino for her assistance in completing the work. Many thanks to our new pastor, Father PJ and our new principal, Mrs. Diane Kinnevy for their support and continued guidance in the library/ media center project.

Finally many thanks to our school children for their help in removing the books last Spring, the Foglia Family for their help this summer in moving the books into the temporary space, and our wonderful seventh and eighth graders for their help whenever needed to move boxes or tables into proper places.

As you can see many people have contributed to this community vision. Many thanks to all!
